Meetings of the Victoria Chapter of the Association of Personal Historians have earned a reputation for delivering beyond expectation. We get in great speakers, engage in stimulating discussion and spend quality time meeting, learning from and enjoying the company of other personal historians.
This year’s meeting, taking place Friday, May 3, 9:30–5:30 in Victoria, features modern marketing coach Terri Davies of Sociability.ca and the Sociability School of Modern Marketing. Terri will be giving us an orientation to social media marketing for personal historians. Social media marketing is recommended for us because it’s based on building relationships, so contains that element of establishing trust that is so important in our work. But how do you reach your target market? Know which media are the best fit for your particular business? Avoid getting lost in the social media maze? Terri will set us on the path to social media success.
Our afternoon session begins with a roundtable discussion about a sensitive topic personal historians meet time and again: What do you do when your storyteller’s version of events contradicts the historical record?
And there will be plenty of opportunity to meet, learn from and enjoy the company of other personal historians.
I’d love to see you there!
