I “invented” personal history in 1992 and am now the Victoria, B.C. area’s senior professional personal historian. My background includes a Master of Arts degree in Psychology, experience in extended care and journalism, and volunteer service as a counsellor. I love my work because of all I learn about the fascinating people I work with and the times they lived in, and because I help them create a legacy with real and lasting value for their families and communities.
I joined the Association of Personal Historians in 2005 and take active part in the work of the organization. Being part of an international network of personal history colleagues helps me keep on top of latest trends and best practices, and allows me to contribute to the growth and maturing of the profession.
I live in the Highlands, a rural municipality near Victoria, where I keep bees, watch birds and bugs, and enjoy hiking wilderness trails with my Cairn terrier.
